Acetic acid (CH₃COOH) is an organic chemical compound belonging to the group of carboxylic acids. It appears as a colorless liquid with a characteristic pungent odor and excellent miscibility with water.
The product is characterized by high chemical purity, good stability, and a wide range of industrial applications. Due to its chemical properties, it is widely used in various industrial and technological processes. Acetic acid is hygroscopic, highly volatile, and fully biodegradable. Glacial acetic acid crystallizes at temperatures below approximately 16.6°C.
In food-grade quality, the product is used as a food additive designated by the symbol E260. In technical applications, it is used as a chemical raw material, pH regulator, and component of numerous industrial formulations.
Our offer includes glacial acetic acid 99.85% and 80% solution, available in both food-grade and technical-grade quality.
Market
Acetic acid is mainly produced by the methanol carbonylation process, which allows obtaining a product with very high purity and stable quality parameters.
The largest producers and consumers of acetic acid are China, the United States, and Western European countries.
A significant part of global production is used for the manufacture of vinyl acetate monomer (VAM), acetic anhydride, acetate esters, and plastics. In Europe, acetic acid is also widely used in the production of cleaning agents, disinfectants, and food additives.
Thanks to its versatile properties and high availability, acetic acid remains one of the key raw materials used in the modern chemical industry.
Application
Acetic acid is widely used in many branches of industry due to its acidifying, preservative, and solvent properties. The product is used in both food-grade and technical-grade applications.
In the food industry, acetic acid is used as an acidity regulator and preservative designated by the symbol E260. It is commonly applied in the production of vinegar, marinades, vegetable preserves, and products requiring microbiological stabilization.
In the chemical industry, it is an important raw material for the production of esters, acetates, acetic anhydride, and numerous intermediates used in the manufacture of paints, varnishes, adhesives, and plastics. Due to its excellent solubility, it is also used as a component of solvents and technological formulations.
Acetic acid is also used in the textile, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries, where it serves, among others, for pH regulation in technological processes and the production of specialized chemical preparations. In technical applications, it is additionally used in the manufacture of cleaning agents, disinfectants, as well as in laboratory and industrial processes requiring high-purity raw materials.
