Description

Sodium hydrogen sulfate (NaHSO4), also known as sodium bisulfate, is a strongly acidic monosodium salt of sulfuric acid. It occurs in the form of a white powder or granules and is soluble in water, forming acidic solutions. Because of its acidic properties, it is widely used in industry to regulate pH, as a detergent ingredient, in papermaking, in the food industry as an acidity regulator, and in cleaning & purification processes. Sodium hydrogen sulfate is also used in laboratories as a chemical reagent. It should be handled with care as it may cause skin, eye and respiratory irritation.
