Description
Sodium carbonate light, also known as light soda ash or soda solvay, is an inorganic chemical compound with the formula Na2CO3. It is a white, crystalline powder that dissolves in water to form a weakly alkaline solution. Sodium carbonate is widely used in industry, primarily as an ingredient in glass production, as a water softener in laundry and cleaning processes, and in the production of other chemicals. Due to its alkaline properties, it is also used to regulate pH in swimming pools and as an ingredient in some food and pharmaceutical products. “Light” refers to its density and texture, which distinguishes it from “heavy soda,” which is a more compact product.
